After several weeks not being in my craft room, it feels great to be able to create again. My mom request a few cards since she has some birthday parties to attend this weekend. When she asked for a Snoopy card, I was a little hesitate since I couldn't really find anything online, but the card turned out super cute. I used square framelits, a few punches, and my Silhouette to create Snoopy and his dog house. I also used my fringe scissors to create the grass. When my fiance came home from work tonight, I was so excited to show him my card. He thought it was super neat and was happy to see that I hadn't forgotten how to make cards. Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Punch Art Christmas Tree
Once again, my inspiration for tonight's creation came from Pinterest. Using my Creative Memories heart punch, I punched out 11 hearts. After I laid them out, I decided they didn't pop off the card enough so I used my ink dauber and went around the edges of the heart. I then punched out a modern label and cut it in half for the stump. I adhered the modern label on the back of one of the hearts. I then adhered the hearts to the overlay to make it look like a Christmas tree. After my tree was finished, I punched out a star using my Creative Memories star punch in yellow glitter paper. To finish the card, I punched out little scalloped circles to put on the tree. This card turned out pretty cool. Who would have known how many different things you can make with punches. The more punch art I do, the more I can't wait to order all of my punches in January. Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Minion Christmas!
Tonight I decided I wanted to do some punch art and I found this cute minon so I had to make it. I will include the directions for the minon at the end of my blog. After I completed my minon, I created a Santa hat for him. I then stamped the snowman and made him appear to be looking up at the snow. Both the snowman and the minon look excited to see snow. This card turned out pretty cute. Creating the minon was a lot of fun and I can't wait to get all my punches in January so I can do more punch art. Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Fishing You a Happy Birthday
Today was yet another day spent in my classroom prepping for the start of the school year, only today was different. I was greeted by visitors as it was open house at school this afternoon, all my hard work getting the classroom ready was put on display. While I have spent the better part of the last week getting ready, I still feel there is plenty left to do with not enough time to do it all. So as the days grew closer the more simple my cards have become, tonight is no exclusion to that logic. On a warm summer day like we had today, I think back to June when I went to the water park to relax and stay cool. The great memories of summer that will keep me warm in the coming months, but alas I knew I should do an aquatic theme for tonight's remarkable creation.
A constant this summer has definitely been my Silhouette, tonight every piece of the card was cut with my favorite tool. But before I get to the main feature of the card, let me explain one of the more creative parts of the card. The green seaweed was stamped in alternating pattern with a stamp meant for flower stems, letting the ink run dry on the stamp also allowed me to freely wave the weeds more accurately. Moving up on the card the next element is a fish, also made with pieces meant for a flower. Using a flower I cut with my Silhouette, I removed all petals except for two; to mimic the appearance of tail fins. Using the pedals from the flower that I had cut off I attached them to the circle. This gave the look of the other fins, the fish was completed by punching a small heart and putting it on the front right side of the circle for a pair of fishing lips. Making a small black dot with a fine tip sharpie, my fishy was now able to see and he was completed. I then made five circles of the same color as my base card, using foam adhesive squares I was able to make four of the five appear 3-D on the card. The fifth and final circle received a darker blue underlay to emphasize the importance of "Happy Birthday" stamped inside.
I finished the card off with the border on top in darker blue then my overlay. These half circles give the look of waves at the top of the water. Now I can go relax with thoughts of days spent relaxing on the boat. Until next time everyone, happy carding!

Turtle Love
Still reeling from last Friday's proposal from my boyfriend, I decided to make a love themed card with him in mind. His favorite creature of all time is turtles, I've seen all sorts of cute designs through the many pages of Pinterest and decided to create one of my very own. The parts that were the easiest were the ones cut from my Silhouette. Including the following pieces: heart (punches), turtle shapes (Silhouette) with some assembly required, log (Silhouette), waves (mostly Silhouette). Thankfully although I cut a lot of pieces with my Silhouette I found that once they were cut and before me they seemingly started to come together right before my very eyes.
Using a new technique never before featured with my Remarkable Creations blog, I used my ink daubers to become more creative with the equipment I have. Creating the appearance clouds in the sky could have been an easy task for the Silhouette but this project is all about trying new techniques we learn, so thus why I decided to try it. The process is simple as covering the daubers in colored ink (here was blue to make the sky on a partly cloudy day), in applying to the paper ever so gently making solid marks and streaking them across the length of the card. As the dauber runs low on ink, I kept rubbing as this gave the appearance of light fluffy clouds and gave a great natural texture boost to the card. Once entirely dry I re-applied ink to the dauber and kept rubbing until the entire top half of the card was complete; it came out quite well if I do say so myself. I repeated this technique on a smaller scale in the ways on the bottom half of the card towards the top and middle of my paper. The darker blue really gave a nice textured and 3-D effect to the water.
All in all I believe that when properly executed this technique can provide some rather interesting results that can't be beat. As this project started as just a simple thing with cards, it has blossomed into a challenge to myself to be more creative (even if I do repeat some techniques from time to time). Love is similar because everyday that I am with now Fiance, I find new reasons to love him more and more each day. Much love and happy carding everybody.

Celebrate Everyday!
More long days so more simple cards, the only difficulty I had in creating today's card was finding a happy medium between paper and my personal tastes. Using my Creative Memories heart punch, I created eighteen hearts out of an assortment of colors and sizes. After punching the hearts, I folded them in half so that the design side of the paper was showing (which I now know for next time I use this technique to use solid color paper so there isn't as much of a blend effect), after tirelessly folding hearts for what seemed like forever it was now time to position them on the card. Affixing the cards with the base of the heart pointing inwards, I used a pinwheel effect for placement creating a faux flower in appearance. This didn't come out as I saw it in my head, but it's neat none the less (as that is what card making is all about discovering new ways to make something different even if it is a happy mistake). Finishing off the card I used a stamp to write "Celebrate Everyday" which leaves this card to fit for many different occasions.

Happy Birthday!
As far back as I can remember I've always loved the zoo, so many cool unique animals. So when I decided to create a "happy birthday" them card, I thought of all the different one of a kind creatures and picked one of tall stature. Rising taller then any other animal in the zoo makes for a card as neat as the giraffe.
Following a design I found on Pinterest, with my new punches and the ever reliable Silhouette I began the tedious task of creating the giraffe. I had to be careful not to mess up the proportions between legs/torso/neck and head. Giraffes are the curiosity of the zoo, such a long neck and long legs to boot. I almost felt like I was creating a new creature while sizing up and affixing the legs to the torso. Getting the pieces placed down with glue, I had to keep the card at arms lengths to keep everything in order. While the final card may not be a 100% match to my vision, the only thing my design and creativity can do is go up. (Much like the neck of a growing giraffe.)
