Graduation/Baby Card In The Box

I have been making a few cards here and there, but I keep forgetting to put them so I am playing catch up tonight.  Stampin UP new catalog is being released on Monday so I created a card in the box with one of the new stamp sets from the catalog.  The new catalog is going to make me go broke that's for sure, but that's nothing new.  The other card I created is a graduation card for one of my best friends that graduated from nursing school.  I am so proud of her!  This card was created using a circle punch, 1" square punch and some rectangles.  I love punch art.  I am hoping to make more punch art cards over the summer.  Those are the two cards that I have created recently and hopefully I can get back into my craft room this weekend to create some more.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Suspended Butterfly Easel Card

After having a migraine all week, I decided to take advantage of a migraine free day since I haven't had very many of them lately.  Since I saw this easel card on Carolyn Lindenmayer's website while searching Pinterest and I decided that I had to case this beautiful card.  I thought this would make a great sympathy card.  It is never easy making a sympathy card, but this card seemed to fit the bill quite nicely.  I found out earlier today that my old roommate lost her grandmother.  It is never easy losing a loved one, but it is nice to know that you have people thinking about you during this difficult time.

The card didn't turned out perfect by any means since there were no directions, but I think it came out pretty good since I only had a picture to go by.  Now that I know all of the steps that I need to go through, next time will be a lot easier and everything will line up better.  Overall though, the card turned out great and I know that my old roommate will love it.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Birthday Banners/Mother's Day Card

This past week I was busy making two birthday banners for a special little one year old.  I made the two manners using my Silhouette and a few Stampin UP supplies.  They turned out great.  I really enjoy making them and being in my craft room.  Besides creating the birthday banners, I made three mother's day cards as well.  It was a busy week in the craft room and I loved every minute of it.  I can say that I have master how to tie a bow now after tied so many for the banners. I hope the birthday boy enjoy his party yesterday.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Snoopy

After several weeks not being in my craft room, it feels great to be able to create again.  My mom request a few cards since she has some birthday parties to attend this weekend.  When she asked for a Snoopy card, I was a little hesitate since I couldn't really find anything online, but the card turned out super cute.  I used square framelits, a few punches, and my Silhouette to create Snoopy and his dog house.  I also used my fringe scissors to create the grass.  When my fiance came home from work tonight, I was so excited to show him my card.  He thought it was super neat and was happy to see that I  hadn't forgotten how to make cards.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Thinking of You

After battling migraines for the past week, I decided to take advance of my migraine free day and make a card.  I also decided to try a new technique as well that my secret sister sent me painters tape to try.  The technique turned out pretty well.  It didn't turn out the first time since the inks were too dark and I stamped the image first.  After a few adjustments, it came out great the second time.  Once I was done creating the background with the painters tape, I stamped the moose and the "Thinking of You" sentiment.  Overall, I love how this card turned out and I can't wait to make more cards using this technique.  At first, I thought the tape was going to be too wide for what I wanted, but it turned out perfect.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Easter Eggs

Since April 10th is soon approaching, I decided that I better get my packages for my secret sister/pals completed so I can put them in the mail next week.  I don't have any Easter stamps and I saw this awesome tutorial on how to make an Easter egg card on Stampin' Connection so I decided to finally make them today.  The cards are adorable and I hope my secret sister/pals like them.  I even made an extra one so I can send one to a friend that I haven't seen in a while.  Until next time, happy carding everyone!

Baby Chicks

Like all vacations, they have to come to an end sometime.  Today was my last day of Spring Break.  It will be nice to see the students tomorrow, but you always have that feeling that you could have used one more day to get a few more things done.  For the most part, I got about 90% of my to do list done, but there is always going to be something that didn't get finished.  My main goal was just to relax and spend some time in the craft room which I did.  Today, I spent some time in the craft room creating a few Easter things for my Secret Sister.  The card front and the baby chick candy holder turned out super cute.  Since I don't have any Easter stamps I have to get a bit creative with what I make this month for my Secret Sister and my two Secret Pals.  Good thing I have Pinterest to help me out or I don't know what I would do.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Tag Topper Card & Hershey Eggs

Today, I was busy in my craft room before I went to see my handsome little nephew.  First, I made two Hershey Eggs.  The eggs I created by looking at a tutorial for a tea cup and the picture of the eggs.  They turned out exactly like the picture and I didn't have to buy the tutorial which made it even better.  I will be sending one to each of my Secret Pals for Easter.  Once those were finished, I created my mom's birthday's card.  Her card was created using the scalloped tag topper punch from Stampin UP.  I love how this card has to be untied to be opened.  I hope my mom enjoy opening her birthday card this year and reading the message inside.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

10 Cards

Today, I went to a Stampin UP event that my Upline was hosting.  We made 10 cards and of course had tons of fun.  Her events are always fun though.  I got lots of great ideas and I can't wait to get my craft room cleaned up tomorrow and make a few cards before my spring break comes to an end.  Of course, I had to come home and order a few items that I didn't have, but likely I had $50 worth of free product to spend so that covered what I still needed to buy.  I love all of the cards that I made, but the first picture is my all time favorite card.  I have a few ideas for that card and I can't wait to make them.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Happy Birthday Trevor!

My brother in law's birthday is on Wednesday so I decided to make him a card in a box.  I was going to try and get 32 candles to fit in this box, but I decided that it was going to be impossible. He will just get to feel a bit younger with only 9 instead of 32 candles.  Hopefully, he will enjoy his card and the lovely message on the back.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

"You can never have too much happy"

Last Tuesday, my friend and I went to a My Paper Pumpkin night.  Before we started working on our Paper Pumpkin's, we made this lively card.  I love how it turned.  We used a few stamps from past Paper Pumpkin's along with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  Also, we used the new fringe scissors from the Occasions catalog.  Just when I think I have ordered everything from that catalog I wanted, I find one more thing I want.  But I love that I see how it is used on cards before I buy it so it doesn't just lay around without being used.  This card could be made using several different colors and could be used for different occasions.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Technique “Recipe” Cards

For the past two weekends, I have been working on three technique "recipe" cards for a Stampin UP swap and I finally finished.  They were a lot of fun to make and I learned two new techniques along to way.  I can't wait to get the others at the beginning of April.  It is always learning new techniques and now when I hold a workshop or class, I will be able to show of this wonderful technique booklet.  Even though my life is super busy right now, it is nice finding time to get into the craft room and get involved a little more with Stampin UP.  Hopefully, this week I will get into my craft room a little more then last week, but we will see how much time allows for that.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Flower Lattice

After being away for almost a month, I am back.  At this time, I don't know if I will be making a card everyday or not.  It has been quite busy around here and I think we getting my migraines under control.  I am going to try and make 3 to 4 cards a week and see how that goes.

Tonight's cards was cased from Brianna Thompson.  When I stay her lovely lattice card, I fell in love and just had to create it myself.  It turned out pretty neat.  It can be used for any occasion since I didn't put a sentiment on the card.  The link on how to make the lattice is at the bottom of my blog.  It does feel pretty good to be back in my craft room creating again though.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Taking A Break

Unfortunately, I will be taking a break from carding making for a week or two.  I need to focus on my health and myself.  I didn't really want to do this, but I think it is what is best for me at the moment.  I will be back to making cards again afterwards.  It might not be everyday, but it will be often.  If I happen to make any cards during this break, I will post them.  The doctors are trying me on different medications right now for my migraines and are affecting other things as well so the break is a way for me to focus on my health.  Thanks for understanding.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Three Leaf Clover Punch Art

Since St. Patrick's Day is the next holiday, I decided to make a card tonight that represented that.  I don't have any stamps besides sentiments for St. Patrick's Day so I found this cute punch art clover. It was super easy to make and only took six hearts to make to three leaf clover.  I don't need any stamps to make cards related to the holiday.  I just need a few punches and some framelits.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Baby Boy Card In The Box!

My best friend sent me a pin early today that she wanted me to make since one of her cousins have a baby boys last week.  I decided that today would be a prefect night to make it. With all of the card in the boxes that I have created lately, one would think I could make them in my sleep by one, but I still have to watch the video for measurements.  This card in the box turned out super cute.  I might have to make another when my nephew when he is born which might be sooner then we think.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Hi!

Tonight's inspiration comes from Pinterest.  I seen a card similar to mine, but it used washi tape.  I have never used washi tape and don't really understand the point to it so I used the same technique, but I used paper instead.  It was a simple card, but it turned out pretty cool.  I love the buttons.  They give the card an extra elements.  This card will go to someone special just when they least expect a simple hi from me.  Everyone expects a birthday card on their birthday, but usually if you want to say you either call or text.  This card will do just a little more then just that.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

You make me so happy!

Yesterday was Valentine's Day so I decided to make a card that could be used anytime of the year to let someone know that they make you happy.  You don't need a special holiday to do show someone that you care.  I cased this cared from Nancy Amato.  It is not actually the same, but it is pretty close that I wanted to give her credit for the idea.  It is an easy card to create and that is what I need today since we are going home to see our parents.  On that note, I better get ready before I get left behind.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Lighthouse Card In The Box

Earlier this week, one of my fiance's cousins turned a year older and we are going home this weekend to celebrate his birthday.  He loves lighthouse and when I saw a card in the box that had a lighthouse, I knew just had to make for him.  Mine of course is a bit different.  The card turned out pretty cool.  I have to say I like the bigger card in the box better than the smaller ones that I have made over the past week weeks.  You can add a lot more detail and the images can be a lot bigger.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Hedgehog Valentine's Day Card

Since I haven't made my honey a Valentine's card yet, I decided that probably should do that tonight.  I was going to use fish or turtles, but I felt like I have done that enough.  After searching through my Silhouette library, I came across these cute hedgehogs.  It is a little different, but I know he is going to love it.  I don't really know what we are going to do for Valentine's, but I would be okay with just staying at home and spending the night together.  We haven't done that in a while, but whatever we do it will be great.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Thank you for all of the support!

Unfortunately, last night was end my card a day streak.  I had a really bad migraine when I got home from school and I end up in bed for 14 hour.  Thankfully, it was gone in the morning so I could go to school.  I am just thankful that I have people in my life that understand what I am going through and are their to support me when I have a rough day.  There has been a lot of people that I have helped me get through this rough patch of migraines over the past year and I am greatly for all of them.  If it wasn't for them, I don't know how I would have kept going through all of the bad days.  I just want to say thank you and I am so very grateful that you are a part of my life.  Tonight's creation is dedicated to everyone that has been there for me and is still there for me to this day.  I won't be the person I am without all of you.  Thank you!  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Valentine's Day Cards

Today was a great day.  I went to the headache clinic and finally got some answers.  I am hoping that the treatment plan is a success and I can function like a normal person in the near future.  Since I had my appointment today that meant no school for me which gave me a few extra hours to make some cards.  I decided to make two cards tonight so that I could sent out all my Secret Sisters packages out tomorrow.  I don't really like going to the post office more than once in a week so I thought it would be a good idea to get it all taken care of at the same time.  I really hope they enjoy their cards this month.  I have had a lot of fun so far getting to know my Secret Sisters and receiving happy mail every month.  It makes going to the mailbox fun again since there is more than just bills in there now.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

This is one of my favorite techniques called "Starburst."

Not your traditional Valentine's Day colors, but I still like how all of the colors came together.

Teddy Bear Race Car Cupcakes

As promised, here is a picture of the cupcakes that I made for my nephew's baby shower.  Everyone loved them.  Recipe is below the picture just in case you would like to make these adorable toppers.

Teddy Bear Race Cars
1 packet of mini Mars Bars or Milky Way candy bars

1 family packet of smarties, M&Ms, or Skittles

1 box of Teddy Grahams

1 quantity of icing sugar icing (powered sugar) past for glue (mix half cup of icing sugar and a teaspoon of cocoa powder with a few drops of hot water)

Glue each of the 4 wheels (M&Ms) on the sides of the milk way bars.  Press into each center a tiny teddy biscuit.  Glue on a M&M steering wheel for each one.

Cupcake Card in the Box

One of my college roommate's is having a birthday tomorrow so I made her a card in the box using my new cupcake stamp set and punch.  It knows her card will be a few days late since I had to wait the stuff to come in, but I hope that she feels it was worth the wait.  Her favorite color is pink so I used lots of pink in her honor.  I wasn't able to celebrate with her, but we will celebrate together soon.  Now, I hope she just doesn't look at my blog until she gets her card in the mail.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

A Gift For Baby

Tomorrow is my nephew's baby shower and I had to make a card for my mom to go along with her gift. She found one on Pinterest that she liked and I changed it to make it my own.  It turned out really cute.  I hope they enjoy it as well as the gifts that they will be receiving tomorrow from everyone.  I still have a few things I need to get done for the baby shower like the cupcakes, but it will have to wait until tomorrow morning.  We did get the topper done today for them.  They turned out supper cute, but were a little bit of a pain.  I will post a picture tomorrow so you can see the adorable cupcakes.  But with all of the things left to do tomorrow, I better get to bed.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Happy Watercolor!

Here is tonight's creation.  It is a simple card since I was busy catching up with one of my best friend's.  She is here again this weekend to make cards and just to have some girl time.  It doesn't get much better than that.  The weekend is jammed packed with card making and making cupcakes for my nephew's baby shower.  It is never a dull weekend around here, but that is okay.  But since I have a lot going on tomorrow and Sunday, I better get to bed so I can enjoy every minute of it.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Very Long Day

Wow, what a day.  It has been a super busy week and today wasn't any different.  I love being a teacher, but the days need to slow down a little bit.  I still have a lot to cover and the school year is already halfway over. I do not know where time is going, but I wish I did.  I will just have to go with the flow and enjoy every minute that I have with my students even though they are already for school to be over.  I am ready for this week to be over though.  I have had a meeting every night after school and it gets a little exhausting after awhile.  But that is just one more that comes with being a teacher.  Since I had a super long meeting tonight, I decided to create an easy card so that I can be rested and ready for another day with my wonderful students.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Sending Sympathy and Prayers...

Today my family said goodbye to a wonderful person that I am glad that I got to know.  Unfortunately, I could not make it to the funeral, but I am going to send a card to show them that I am thinking about them during this difficult time.  It is never easy to say goodbye to someone you love and it makes it even harder when it is your sister or daughter.  As hard as it is to day goodbye to a love one, I feel that making a sympathy is just as hard.  It took me a little searching to figure out how I wanted to make my card.  The original idea came from Terry Morelli, but I changed it a little bit to make it my own.  The card turned out great and I hope that my family gets through this difficult time.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Rough Day

Today was one of those day where I should have just stay in bed all day.  I wasn't feeling well to begin with, but then we received some bad news that one of my cousins past away.  It was a blessing since she couldn't move or talk anymore, but it is still hard to hear.  Her beautiful smile and personality will be greatly missed. Since I wasn't really feeling in the card creating mood so I just created a Thank You card.  It doesn't really fit how the day ended, but I have great co-workers that let me cry on their shoulder after I heard the news.  If it wasn't for them, I won't have made it though the last few hours of school.  They are great people and I love how they come together when people really need them.  Thank you to everyone that helped me make it through the afternoon today.  It was greatly appreciated.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Monday's

Unfortunately, I just did a card front tonight since I am not feeling well.  I didn't turn out the way I was hoping, but that will happen from time to time.  I would love to talk about my creation more, but I am not feeling the greatest.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.

Another Card Sketch

Today was another relaxing day at home.  I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing weekend and who knows when I will get another one.  Since I didn't really have an idea in mind for today's creation, I decided to use another card sketch.  It turned out pretty cute.  It isn't exactly like the card sketch, but that's what makes it even more special.  These sketches are pretty neat.  I might have to add one or two a week to my project.  Until next time happy carding everyone.

Banner Card

Today was a great day to catch up on a few television shows as well as a few of the forums that I follow on Stampin' Connection.  It was a very relaxing day and I usually don't get that on a Saturday so I enjoyed every minute of it.  Since I got to catch up on things and looked at all the great creations on Stampin Connections, I came across a card that I had to CASE.  It was such a beautiful card that I decided wanted to create it.  The card was created by Lisa Martz (http://lvstmpn.wordpress.com/2014/01/30/ccmc288-you-make-me-happy/).  I changed a few things on the card, but I wanted to give her credit since she originally created it.  The card turned out just as beautiful as hers and I am glad she shared her idea on Stampin Connection.  I may have to use that card at my next workshop since I think the customers will like it just as much as I do.  Until next time, happy carding everyone.
